Product Description

Bodhi prem rani angi in mashru silk features premium metal laffa and charkhi gota detailing on the chest and sleeves, with sequin embellishing the entire piece.

Craft Note

The Angi has been a part of Shekhawati’s traditional dressing culture for generations, and so has the craft of Gota Patti. At Aangiwali, each Angi is stitched first and then adorned by hand, following the same process that has been practiced by artisans for years.

Every piece of gota is prepared by hand and attached using a single-thread stitching technique. This careful process takes time and makes every Angi slightly unique. As the embellishment is added after the garment is stitched, the alteration margins remain without craft work, making accurate measurements important.

Each Angi is made in small batches in Shekhawati, carrying forward a craft that continues to be passed from one generation to the next.

Please note that the size chart is intended as a general guide only. All Aangiwali pieces are made to order based on your body measurements for the best fit.

For the most accurate fit, we recommend taking your measurements without a padded bra, as our angies are crafted without built-in cups. Angi length and sleeve length are standard and are intentionally designed to be shorter than a regular blouse as part of the traditional silhouette. Standard lehenga length is 42 inches, while the standard odhani length is 2.5 metres. Custom lengths are available on request.

Please note: For stitched garments, the standard margin inside the seam ranges from 0.5 inch to 1 inches. This margin will not include embroidery, as we stitch the Aangi first and then complete the handcraft.

All products are hand-dyed and hand embellished by a singular process, lending inherent uniqueness to every piece. A slight variation in color or look is an inherent characteristic of the handmade, hand-produced product.

As with all authentic gota work, contact with water may result in natural color release. We suggest keeping the garment dry to retain its elegance.
